Ruff Estimate is the serendipitous result of a
miscalculation. Its name is a play on words, as this winding piece resembles an
Elizabethan collar piece, but it has also been left unfinished, or rather with a
graded finish, from fine sandpaper to completely unsanded, thus parts of it are
`in the rough' as it were. The angles the wooden units have been cut to are also a
rough estimate of what they would need to be should the ruff be completed into a full circle.
